                     This benefits the nervous system thus eliminates stress in the body and mind.

 Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep as it is commonly known, is an immensely powerful meditation technique, and one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. While the practitioner rests comfortably in shavasana (corpse pose), this systematic meditation takes you through the pancha maya kosha (five layers of self), leaving you with a sense of wholeness. Included are gentle movements for rejuvenation. All levels welcome.

Maryon Maass ERYT-500, Lived in India for 8 years and is an experienced Meditation from Swami Veda Bharati, (Himalayan Tradition and BKS Iyengar), Feldenkrais and Qi Gong teacher. She studies the subtleties of body and mind, through the observation of the body, and breath. She leads us through subtle energies for relaxation and peace of mind for rejuvenation and longevity.

The Art of Meditation with Maryon MaassThis series is meant to explore the dimensions of meditation- from body, to breathing, to mind. At the level of the physical self, it will help you find a quiet stillness. At the level of the breath, it will lead to an uncoupling from the tensions and negativity of daily life. At the level of mind, it will help you to learn to rest in a quiet center of being. Over these 4 months we will practice and repeat a series of systematic exercises to train our mind to focus on stillness so that the nervous system and the brain can benefit for long term. Beginners and seasoned students welcome.

zeniasmaryonflierIn this workshop we begin by slowing down the activities of the mind and body, with gentle movements for the Joints and Glands. Then practicing the best sitting posture which will be most effective for quieting the mind in meditation. This course will touch on the use of alternate nostril breath to give optimal openings to the subtle channels of energies and quiet the emotional body. Followed by complete point to point relaxation and meditation.

Beginning Meditation Workshop

maass_yoganidra_sept2015Yoga Nidra—one can call this “yogic conscious sleep”, learning to rest the body deeply and be aware of one’s surroundings. Yoga Nidra has many pathways, and in this workshop we will practice the 61 points of “Shava-Yatra (Pilgrimage of the corpse pose with a blue star). Known as the best relaxation because one can focus specifically on major energy points in the body. Included will be gentle movements for rejuvenating the joints and the glands, as well as a nadi shodhanam (alternate nostril breathing/pranayama)and meditation.
